Patricia (Patte) Kirchner-Smudde, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on November 19, 2022 at the age
of 64. Patte was born in Milwaukee on April 7, 1958 to Clyde and Elfriede (Zeitz) Kirchner. She is survived
by her husband Bart Smudde, daughters Rachel Smudde and Sarah Smudde M.D., father Clyde Kirchner,
and sisters Kathy (Neureuther), Susan (Creegan) and Marilyn (Jablonski).
Pathology and Audiology. After graduating, she worked in the Milwaukee Public School system and then
Franklin Public Schools before moving to Georgia. Patte retired from the Forsyth County School system
in 2019.
Patte was dedicated to her career teaching speech and language to elementary school children,
frequently inventing her own educational games and activities to engage her students. In her spare
