Patricia Kaye “Pat” Wood, 73, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the home of her daughter and best friend Kathy, surrounded by love and her family.
Pat as she was known to her family was born on January 10, 1945, in Anna, Illinois to the late Carl and Suda (Hammond) Wright.
She married the love of her life David D. Wood Sr. on December 29, 1959, in Mounds City, ILL. Surviving is her husband of 59 years, David D. Sr.; daughter Kathy (Gary) Wood, Son, David (Renee) Wood Jr.; adopted daughter Lana McKee; 6 grandchildren, David Plante, Kane Stoddard, Casey (Augusta “Gus”) Wood, Ben (Jessica) Wood, Amy (Jay) McConnell, Brandy Ragland; 15 great-grandchildren, Collin Tiemann-Plante, Mikayla Fletcher, Tyler Plante, Reagan Plante, Blake Plante, Kendall Plante, Hayleigh Mullen, Addison Stoddard, Berick Wood, Uriah Wood, Cash Wood, Brooklyn Wood, Taylor McConnell, Ella McConnell, and Brady McConnell.
Pat was preceded in death by a brother Kenny Baker and 3 sisters, Carolyn Winkenwerder, Diana Johnson, and Christina Schaffer.
Patricia was a loving homemaker, wife, and nana. She formerly worked at Creation Windows. Pat loved to cook for her family and friends; nobody ever left her home hungry. She made the best-fried potatoes and fried chicken on the planet. She lived for her family and will be missed by all.
