On December 14, 2019, after a six-month battle with cancer, Patricia Joan (DeVries) Ouding found peace with her Lord and Savior. Patricia was born October 30, 1941, the second child of Claus and Nellie DeVries.
Patricia grew up in Comstock and graduated from Kalamazoo Christian in 1959. Patricia pursued a career in cosmetology and in 1970, she and Stanley started Stan Ouding Bedding Plants. The two worked side-by-side for over 30 years. Patricia enjoyed traveling with family and friends, wintering in Florida, and spending summers at Kline’s Resort.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and two infant children.
She is survived by her son, Steven Ouding, daughter-in-law Donna Chippewa, daughter Sueann (Ouding) Nowak, son-in-law Greg Nowak; and grandchildren, Alyssa Ouding, Brandon Ouding, Megan (Jake) Diadiun, and Andrew Nowak.
