Patricia Josephine Roka Age 80 of Owosso passed away peacefully Friday, August 24, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday August 29, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Dieudonne Ntakarutimana officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3pm to 8pmwith a rosary being prayed at 7pm.Patricia was born March 21, 1938 in Hubbardston, the daughter of Thomas and Lillian (Kane) Donahue.She attended the Michigan School for the Deaf and then attended the LaParent Beauty School in Grand Rapids.Patricia was a member and past President of the Owosso Association of the Deaf, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.She enjoyed playing cards and watching the Detroit Tigers. She was known for baking the best homemade bread. She participated in the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge walk for many years. Patricia was proud to be Irish.She married William C. Roka in Owosso on June 22, 1963 in Owosso; he predeceased her on October 9, 2013.Patricia spent her years raising a family and later working at Durand Senior Care Center as a beautician.Patricia is survived by her children Karen (Robert) Zambiasi, Sam Roka, Patrick (Karen) Roka and Jason (Morgan) Roka; seven grandchildren Hannah, Lauren, Evan, Logan, Aidan, Emery and Maeve; sister Agnes McKenna; brother Richard (Joyce) Donahue; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her sister Catherine Andrew, brother Raymond Donahue, brothers-in-law Robert McKenna, Thurman Andrew and sister-in-law Sue Donahue.Memorial contributions are suggested to Diocese of Lansing Deaf Ministries or St. Paul Catholic Church.Online condolences may be sent to the family at Nelson-House.com.
