GROVELAND – Patricia “Pat” Ellen (Holleran) Denn, died peacefully at her home on Bare Hill Road in Groveland. Born December 1, 1928, in Roslindale to Joseph Edward Holleran and Elizabeth Mathers Holleran, Pat was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Betty Ann and Gerry, and her brothers Edward and David.
The Holleran kids attended Roslindale Public Schools including Roslindale High School where Pat was a member of the class of 1946. She graduated from Emmanuel College on June 5, 1950 and married Edward “Eddie” John Denn on June 8, 1950. The young couple had their first child, Eddie, Jr. in 1951 while living in Roslindale. They bought their first home in Hopkinton and added Mary, Michael, Peter and Joe. In 1958 the family moved to Groveland where Patrick, Catherine, Chris and Becky were born.
Pat and Eddie’s home on Bare Hill Road was at the center of the family’s life. With a barn, a near-by pond, woods, fields and nine kids there was always something to do and someone to do it with. Cedardale Swim and Tennis Club was next door and close enough that all summer long, Pat could hear happy kids, including her own, at play, while she folded laundry in her kitchen.
