Patricia Hofstrom, 60, of Cogan Station, was welcomed home by our Lord on Friday, March 18, 2011.

She was born to Albert and Marie (Zammataro) Mulvaney on March 16, 1951, and grew up in New Brunswick, N.J. After graduating from New Brunswick High School in 1969, she attended Union County Vocational Tech and subsequently earned her teaching certificate from Montclair State University. Tricia then became the Director of Dental Assistant Training at the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she met and later married her husband, Glen Theodore Hofstrom, on March 29, 1975. After moving to Williamsport, Pa. in 1976, she taught the Dental Assistants Program in the Vocational Education Department at Williamsport Area Community College. Soon after, Tricia and Glen started a family and she dedicated her life to raising their five children. While doing so, she was the President of the Lycoming County Medical Society Alliance, served as the 7th District Counselor for the PA State Medical Society Alliance, was Regional Commissioner for the Williamsport AYSO, and helped support Boy Scouts Troop 36 at Balls Mills UMC where she was an active member of the church. After raising her children she worked as a teacher’s aide at Roosevelt Middle School, volunteered with the Community Arts Center and was a Big Sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Family meant everything to Tricia, and she meant everything to her family. She loved family vacations, getaways with her husband and she absolutely adored their cottage in Canada where she and her family created so many wonderful memories. Tricia was a beautiful, selfless, strong and compassionate woman who made the lives of those who knew her a little brighter. She was a true giver who brought people together and will be sadly missed for a very long time.

After 36 years of marriage she is survived by her husband Glen Hofstrom; her five children (and spouses), Erik Hofstrom (Melanie Best Hofstrom) of Charleston, S.C., Glen Hofstrom of Raeford, N.C., Brett Hofstrom (Hillary Eckert Hofstrom) of Loyalsock, Carl Hofstrom of Knoxville, Tenn. and Lauren Hofstrom Mize (Justin Mize) of Virginia Beach, Va.; as well as by her grandson Connor, son of Brett and Hillary. She is also survived by her mother, Marie Mulvaney of Monroe Twp., N.J.; by her sisters Kathy Besecker of Cincinnati, Ohio and Cheryl Davis of Monroe Twp., N.J.; by her brother Alan Mulvaney of Jackson, N.J.; and by many extended family members and friends whom Patricia loved dearly.
