Patricia (Pat) A. Hendricks, age 71, of Algona, passed away on March 8, 2020 at the Algona Manor Center in Algona. Patricia Ann Hendricks, the daughter of Ed and Betty (Zrostlik) Holecek, was born on January 8, 1949 in Algona, Iowa at the Kossuth Hospital. She attended Bishop Garrigan schools and graduated in 1967. On October 8, 1977, Pat was united in marriage to Jack Hendricks at First United Methodist Church in Algona. She was employed at Snap-On Tools until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed her hosta gardens, scrapbooking and spending all the time she could with her grandkids. In her youth, Pat was active with Girl Scouts. She served as a Boy Scout leader on a local and district level with Jack for over 44 years. Through Scouting in the local troop Pat helped mentor 45 young men to the rank of Eagle Scout. She was like a second mother to many of the members of Troop 71 over the years. Pat will be remembered for her infectious smile, positive attitude and countless years of selfless service to the Scouting program and the community. Pat always had a kind word, big smile or witty greeting for everyone she met. She remained positive through the 2 and ½ year battle with her health and was strong right to the end. Left to cherish Pat’s memory are her husband of 42 years, Jack of Algona; son, Ron Lane of Robins; grandson, Ryan Lane of Robins; granddaughter, Jessica Lane of Robins and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Betty Holecek; two infant sons and father and mother-in-law, Lowell and Erlynne Hendricks.
