She was born August 27, 1932 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Joseph P. and Florence (Leary) Mills and died peacefully at home on October 21, 2018 with her loving daughter by her side.
She was raised on the family farm outside of Berwick, IL. and graduated from Corpus Christy High School. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing, Peoria IL. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Parish who served as the president of the Alter and Rosary Society, was a member of the Catholic Foresters and was the chair of several Fall Festivals at St. Joseph Grade School. Pat was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and Green Bay Packers fan and any sporting events her grandchildren were involved in. In earlier years Pat worked as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg, and OMC Gale Products as an industrial nurse. She also worked at the doctor’s offices of Dr. Stansbury and Dr. Strauch. Pat will always be remembered as the most loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She was the rock of our family who was adored by all her brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews and their families.
She is survived by her loving Children Karen McKillip, Kevin McKillip, and Sean (Patti) McKillip, her grandchildren Erin, Monica, Patrick, Karyl and Joseph McKillip, her siblings, Mary Mills, Bonita Laule and Steve Mills and Joseph (Patricia) Mills, 13 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews, her former husband K. Edward McKillip. She was preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Hickey and brother-in-law Frank Laule. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
