Patsy Ellen McCormick passed away on April 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Wayne and Peggy Riggs on March 7, 1943 in Tucson, AZ.
She moved to Phoenix as a young girl, attended Camelback High School and graduated from Arizona State University in May 1964 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She later earned a Master’s in Education from Northern Arizona University. She married her high school sweetheart, David, in 1964 and soon after moved to Flagstaff.
Patsy was proud to call Flagstaff home for the past 53 years. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to family, friends, and many volunteer organizations. She was a founding charter member of The Assistance League of Flagstaff and dedicated many hours to the Cedar Closet Thrift Store. She was also active in the parent teacher associations in the Flagstaff Public Schools. While she and David raised three children of their own, she was also a mother to many more especially her “adopted daughter” Pam. In her last 20 years she is most proud of her role as ‘Nana’. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Peggy Riggs.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, David McCormick, her 3 children and their spouses; Wayne (Debra), Joy (Robert), and Sherrill (Chris). Patsy was blessed with five grandchildren; Zachary (20), Hannah (19), Maia (19), Kyle (18), and Megan (17).
