Patricia (Pat) Green Jones passed from this life on Sunday March 5th leaving behind her lifelong soul-mate Bruce, her loving family and extended family and many, many others who were touched by her gentle kindness. She was a traveler, befriender of anyone she met who was in need, a lover of animals (especially cats) and an independent thinker whose community included all people regardless of their beliefs or way of life. She originally trained as a nurse at St. Mary’s of the Plains Nursing School in Dodge City KS. The skills, empathy and compassion nurtured there became her hallmark throughout her life. She worked in many jobs but was most satisfied in those where she could help others. A native Kansan, she was born in Moscow Kansas but did not miss the windy plains when she and Bruce ventured forth to settle at the foot of the Colorado National Monument in 1968. As early entrepreneurs, she and Bruce ran the Redlands Drive-in, later Potato Junction for many years. After retirement, she and Bruce crisscrossed the country in their motor home, always finding adventure and friendship in the most unlikely places.
