Mrs. Dian was born January 12, 1954, in Snyder, TX, and passed away on March 29, 2022, in Oak Grove, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Rosine Compton; and brother, William “Billy” Compton.
Patricia Dian Weaver, known to most as Momma Dian or sister #8, left a legacy behind for all who knew her. Dian came from a very large family of 9 sisters (including her) and 2 brothers, 11 siblings in total. She married into a family of 11 siblings also. Between the 2 families Dian helped raise numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins through the generations and most of them knew her as Momma Dian or Grandma Dian.
She absolutely went above and beyond for her family. Her children and grandchildren learned so much from her; from loving kindness, to playing musical instruments and singing together.
She learned late in life from her daughter and grandkids to start picking up strangers and hitchhikers. Between that and the care she gave to so many, so easily, she entertained angels unaware.There was never a person she turned away, even when they previously did her so dirty and wrong she stilled loved them, forgave them and lived a life of being Christ-like through her unconditional love and compassion, as a child of God who loved like Christ Jesus loves! That is likely her biggest testimony!
She was a caregiver! Not just to her husband, children and many others she helped along the way, but even for her patients during her nursing career who became her family. One had her a decal made because they all called her God’s angel, and that sliver shiny decal read, “God’s Angel” and it made her so proud!
Dian was very knowledgeable about God and His word. Although some of her children struggled at some point with Christianity or religion as some see it, she taught them all to love the Lord and to obey Him regardless. She taught them to love one another and be there to help their brothers and sisters, no matter what was happening or had already happened between them.
Her faith was strong and she was a praying woman. Her knees were likely worn down over the years for praying so hard for her children and numerous others in need.
In the end of August, this past year, as she began to get sicker and her health and life declined, she heard her mother say, “You don’t need that anymore!” and as she heard those words loud and clear from her mother in Heaven, the tears fell down, and she by the mercy and grace of the Holy Spirit through Christ was delivered from the addiction and desires of the flesh of smoking and she never looked back.
She was baptized in the water in her younger adult years, and she was recently blessed to be baptized in her home by the sprinkling with blessed holy water instructed by God Himself, by her brother-in-law, James Hooks. And on March 28, 2022, as her daughter prayed with her, she was baptized in the Holy Spirit, a second and final baptism.
March 29, 2022, the Lord took her up into Heavenly realms, to live her eternal life with Him in perfection! We know the Lord has spoken, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant. After doing all that you could to stand, you continued to stand!”
Survivors include her husband, William “Sonny” Edward Weaver of Oak Grove, LA; children: Jason Weaver of Buckatunna, MS, Crystal “Sissy” Beasley and husband, Kenneth of Claire, MS, Yancy Burch and wife, Mary of Eudora, AR, Jory Burch and wife, Corinne of Kermit, TX, Sonya Ramirez and husband, Cesar of Wink, TX, and Nicholas “Chad” Weaver and wife, Lisa of Eudora, AR; Grandchildren: Damian, Carla Rae, Tiara, Tanner, Taylor, Tasha, Hailey, Nikki, Susan, Scott, Spencer, Dominique, Destany, Jordan, Gabi, Cesar Rey, Emory, Brionna, Sierra, Dakota, Kaitlen, Jonathan, Miella, and Alexis; 22-great grandchildren; siblings: Eddie Bea Johnson of Huntsville, AR, Earline Stanfield of Malakoff, TX, Eunice Griffith of Kilbourne, LA, Charlene Brooks of Oak Grove, LA, John Edward Compton and wife, Pat of Eudora, AR, Minnie Griffis of Kermit, TX, Willie Hooks and husband, James of Kilbourne, LA, Patsy Bayne and husband, Robert of Ruston, LA, and Emily Powell and husband, Randy of Chickasha, OK; sister-in-law, Pat Compton of Kermit, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
