Mrs. Patricia Dean Andrews, age 80, of Newnan passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021. Mrs. Andrews was born in Princeton, West Virginia to William Mason Slade and Ruth Belle Thomasson Slade. Mrs. Andrews attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia where she earned a BS degree in Medical Technology. She went on to graduate school to study Microbiology and post graduate work in Epidemiology. She worked at CDC in 1970. In 1975 she moved to Coweta County. She worked as the infectious control coordinator for Newnan Hospital and Coweta General hospital for 25 years until she retired. Mrs. Andrews was residing at Wesley Woods at the time of her passing along with her constant companion, Mazie, who passed soon after Mrs. Andrews.
She leaves behind her children, Nicole (Doug) Andrews-Kees DVM, of Newnan, Ga., Kiersten Andrews of Houston, Tx., Randall Hodges of Richmond, Va., and her sister Beth Ann Duafala of Alliquippa, Pa. Mrs Andrews also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
