Patricia (Gisler) Butkus, 71, of Peru, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Mrs. Butkus was born September 19, 1945 in Peru to Roy and Virginia (Burger) Gisler. She was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School and the LaSalle School of Beauty Culture.
She married Larry Butkus on August 13, 1966 at Zion United Church of Christ in Peru.Mrs. Butkus was a lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru. She was known as the “the happy little red head” behind the counter at Osco Drug and CVS where she worked as a clerk for 17 years. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband in Cancun. They celebrated their 50th anniversary there in 2016.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; four children, Keith (Teresa) Butkus of Oswego, Brian (Azure) Butkus of Peru, Laurie Butkus of Peru and Debbie Whorrell of Washburn; six grandchildren, Ursula and Joseph Butkus, Gabriel Hale, Liam Harris, Stephanie Walter and Adam Bicket; her sister, Dolly (Joe) Borostowski of Granville as well as being a second mother to Alaina, Shannon and Nicole Butkus, Scott and Kelly Walter and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents.
