Patricia (Stettenbenz) Peterson was born to Joseph and Jessie (Spradley) Stettenbenz in Tecumseh, Nebraska on July 11, 1940. She was baptized at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh. She grew up in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1958.
She met the love of her life, Dale Peterson, while he was working construction in Tecumseh. They were married two weeks later on October 27, 1962. They spent the early years of their marriage traveling for Dale’s job. They settled in Fairbury in 1965, where they resided for 42 years. Dale and Patricia moved to Cortland, where they lived the past seven years. Dale passed away July 7, 2010.
Patricia was a cook at SCC in Fairbury, at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury and after moving to Cortland, worked at Walmart in Beatrice.
Patricia passed away March 26, 2014 at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams at the age of 73 years.
Patricia is survived by her children, Bobette Ackerman and husband Gerald of Beatrice and her children, Sean and Jenny, Kevin Peterson and wife Shannon of Wayne and their children, Brittney and Jared, Connie Gates of Cortland and her children, Justin, Jeffrey, Jaci and Jordan, Donna Hamre of Watertown, SD and her children, Faren, Tanner and Evan, Dana Peterson of Watertown, SD and her children, Nicholas and Kraig, 11 great-grandchildren, sisters, Cathy Lott of Tecumseh, Josephine Stettenbenz of Lincoln and Nancy Kassebaum and husband Jack of Lincoln, brothers, Jim Stettenbenz and wife Marie of Denver, CO and Jack Stettenbenz and wife Anna of Guam and many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale, infant sister, Mary Ellen and grandchildren, Katelyn Hutchison and Jessica Binnick.
