Patricia Ann (Santoianni) Minto, age 90, of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021. Patty was the beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt & godmother to many in her large family.
Patty was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Mary Menillo Santoianni; her 3 sisters, Mary Lou Patrick, June Lanese and Lois Cole as well as her beloved Uncle Freddy Santoianni, whom she helped care for during his elder years. She waspredeceased by her cherished daughter, Lois Carol Minto, whose passing eight years ago left a deep void in her heart. Just a week ago, Patty mentioned to her daughter, “Lois is waiting for me, I need to go see her.” She was also predeceased by her former husband and good friend, Frank J. Minto. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Patricia Ann Saad and her husband Philip of Stratford, MaryBeth Minto of Bridgeport, June Minto of Stratford and Pamela Kelly of Milford; eight grandchildren, five spouses of her grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Although “Gram” (as she was known to be called by everyone) had a truly special unique relationship with each of her grandchildren, her banter and relationship with Noelle was a frequent part of her life that usually resulted in laughter and a competition of wits! Patty “Ma” also leaves to cherish her memory her son-in-law Francis Kelly.
Patty was a wonderful cook and baker and all the family always looked forward to her beautiful trays of holiday cookies and homemade meatballs and manicotti. Her grandchildren were big fans of her famous pancakes and Sunday dinners. Having learned from her mother, Patti was also an expert seamstress, she sewed her children’s clothing as well as knitted and crocheted many items for her grandchildren. She crocheted hats for every family member in colors of the flags of their family’s ethnic heritage. She loved Italian music especially Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Al Martino, the WICC Italian House Party on Sunday mornings and the New York Yankees. She also loved golf, crossword puzzles and watching Turner Classic Movies.
