Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, Patricia Ann (Pat) Nickles, 79, of Waterflow passed from this life and through the gates of Heaven Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Albuquerque. She was born Sep. 21, 1942, to Joseph Bernard Wethington and Melvina Medesta Gatton; she is the youngest of 14 children. Patricia’s parents joined her grandparents on the Kentucky Mesa in 1917, where the family has lived, worked and raised their families for 6 generations.
Patricia attended school at the Catholic Academy in Waterflow. Patricia Married Roy David Nickles, the Love of her life, on Sept 2, 1960. They were married for 56 years at the time of Roy’s passing.
Patricia is preceded in death by husband Roy, daughter Cindy Wargo, son Scott Nickles, parents, Bernard and Melvina, brothers, Francis, Tom, Herbert, Bill, Jim, Sarge, Ed and Herman; sisters, Margaret Birkenfeld, Mildred Gaylor, Tina Yows and Bernadine Ambabo. She is survived by her brother Jack (Mary) Wethington, Daughter Robin Blackman, Grandchildren, Jake Mariott, Donny Wargo, Ashley Blackman and Joshua Blackman. 4 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Lilly, Percephoni and Faye. along with numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited Wednesday April, 6, 2022 9:30 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9 Road 6820 in Waterflow.
