Hagerstown, Maryland- Patricia Ann “Patti” McNemar of Hagerstown, Maryland and formerly of Shepherdstown, WV passed away Saturday October 18, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born May 6, 1948 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson and Rose Genevieve Hewett McNemar.
Patti was a 1966 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. By use of the State of Maryland Scholarship Program, Patti graduated from the Community College of Baltimore as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in 1974. She completed her internship at John’s Hopkins of Baltimore and The Western Maryland Hospital in Hagerstown. In 1976, she graduated from the Community College of Baltimore with an A.A. degree. Patti attended the University of North Carolina to become an Oral Dysfunction Specialist.
After college, Patti worked for the Love Manufacturing Dress factory and also worked for the state of Maryland at the Washington and Allegheny County Health Departments. Most recently she worked for the Finan Center in Cumberland and the Potomac Center in Hagerstown as an instructor/supervisor and LCOTA.
Patti went to Annapolis to stand up for Licensing for Occupational Therapists and won!
She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Smithsburg, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Charles Woodrow “Woody McNemar and a sister Rose G. McNemar.
Patti is survived by her brother Michael A. McNemar and his wife Charlene, nieces Pam Downing, Donna Reichert and Serena McNemar, nephews James and Mitchell McNemar, great niece Lacey Reichert, great nephews Matthew Reichert, Jeffrey Caniford and Zachary Jones, 8 great great nieces and nephews and a godchild Kendra M. Price.
