Patricia Ann Campbell was born November 16, 1952 to Joseph Gilbert Porter and Vanile Rose Cunningham in Ogden, Utah.  She passed away on September 29, 2022 surrounded by those she loved the most.

Patricia graduated from Ogden High School in 1971 and stayed active in her community by serving in the Junior League of Ogden in various capacities, including President, where she lifted the underserved and empowered the women around her.

Patricia was married to Dick Newcomb in 1972 and they had two daughters together, Natalie and Lori. She spent those early years making sure her girls loved life.

On September 10, 1985 she married the love of her life, Craig R. Campbell and gained another daughter, Marne and a son, Shaune. Patricia and Craig have spent the past 37 years as incredible companions enjoying time up in La Plata, riding ATV’s and trips to Arizona. For 33 years she worked in the Personnel Department working her way up to being the Operational Site Coordinator for the IRS where her co-workers became an extended family. Everyone knew and loved Patricia. She was honored with the Mattie Wattis Harris Spirit of the American Woman award.

One of Patricia’s favorite roles was being a grandma to her 11 grandchildren. She was constantly delighted by them and spent so much time and effort nurturing those relationships by organizing new craft projects, having Christmas time sleepovers, and always being fully stocked with licorice, Goldfish crackers and Capri Suns. She was adored by her grandkids.

Patricia was the ultimate party planner and friends will miss her annual holiday wine party that was held religiously for 20 years. It gave people a reason to come together and connect and feast on her delicious food. She was always hosting parties and finding any reason possible to celebrate.

In her free time you could find Patricia taking up painting, beadwork, sewing, quilting…really anything but knitting which she never did get the hang of no matter how many times she tried. When she wasn’t crafting, she was adventuring or gardening. Winter in Arizona, camping in La Plata, or riding her ATVs created a full life she loved, and she grew the best Hooper tomatoes and all the peppers and onions you needed to bottle endless jars of salsa.

Patricia had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Once it started, there was no stopping it, and the room would dissolve in giggles. She taught us all not to take ourselves so seriously.

The family would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at Ogden Regional Medical Center for the loving care they provided during those last few days. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Craig, her sister, Pamela (Brad) Slater, daughters Natalie (Ben) Chamberlain, Lori (Sean) Jensen and Marne Boyle (David Ebner) and son Shaune (Liz) Campbell, and 11 grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Peggy, brother-in-law, Roger and nephew Bryan.
