Prospect- Mrs. Patricia A. (Cantillon) Paolino, 71, died Wednesday morning, January 6, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of John R. Paolino, Sr, who was the love of her life for 46 years.
Mrs. Paolino was born August 9, 1938 in North Hampton, MA, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Helen L. (Mullen) Cantillon. She was raised in Waterbury and attended local schools. Mrs. Paolino was a graduate of Wilby High School class of 1957. After high school, she graduated from St. Agnes Nursing School in 1960. She practiced pediatric nursing at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven and at local doctors’ offices. She found great joy in being an active mother at St. Hedwig’s School and was instrumental in establishing the hot lunch program in the 1970’s. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother who enjoyed caring for her two grandsons.
Mrs. Paolino and her family would like to thank her sisters-in-law Frances Paolino and Claudette Paolino and extended family for helping with her care. She would also like to thank JoAnne Perkins, her VNA aide and friend, everyone at VNA Hope and Hospice Teams, Hazel Molefhe, her private duty aide, Dr. Harriett Kluger and the staff of the Yale New Haven Oncology Clinic, and Dr. Kert Sabbath and the staff of the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center for their compassionate care and support.
She is survived by one son, John R. “Jay” Paolino, Jr of Prospect; one daughter, Tammy Leigh Paolino of Prospect; three sisters-in-law, Frances Paolino of Prospect, Claudette Paolino of Waterbury and Rosemary Eastman and her husband Philip II of Augusta, GA; two grandsons, Nicholas J. Paolino and Julian M. Paolino both of Freehold, NY and many nieces and nephews.
