Patricia Ann Evans was born to the late Frank Owens and Mamie Ruth Selby on April 6, 1953. On August 1, 2017, God saw fit to visit Sampson Regional Medical Center and call her home from earth to glory.
Patricia, in her early years, attended Charles E Perry and Roseboro/Salemburg in her high school years. Right after high school, she went to work at Mary’s Restaurant for many years. In November 2008, she was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Evans. In October 2013, God called him home.
She attended Oliver Institute for many years. She worked diligently on the usher board and in the church. Later she joined Faith Temple Pentecostal Church where she worked just as diligently. She sang in the choir and worked with the church giving out clothing, food, and other tangible items to those in need. She loved her church family. Her faith in God was strong, and she believed He could do anything but fail.
On July 31, Patricia and her sister, Gwen, spent the day together sharing love, laughter, and memories. The last words shared between them were “Goodbye…I love you.”
Patricia, affectionately called “Trish”, was a quiet and loving-spirited young woman. There was nothing she wouldn’t do or give up if you asked her. She was loved by so many people.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Gwendolyn Selby Freeman of Fayetteville, NC; a stepmother, Louise Owens; one half-brother, Lamont Owens of Salemburg, NC; one uncle, Rudolph (Dorothy) Selby of Spring Lake, NC; two aunts, Helen (Frank) Arnette of Salemburg, NC, Maybell Owens of Clinton, NC. One niece, Makayla Freeman; 2 nephews, Derris and Terris Selby– all of Fayetteville, NC; a special cousin, Evelyn (Robert) Brown of Clinton, NC.
Special recognition is given to Mrs. Brenda Register who was her caretaker and friend for many years, even up to her very last breath. Thank you, Brenda, for loving and taking such good care of Patricia. You will forever be part of our family and in our prayers.
