On April 12, 2017, Meithal “Pat” Melhuish, 95, passed away at her residence in Ferndale. She was born in Olive Branch, NC to the late Elias and Julia Baucom. Pat worked at Social Security in the data center and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Cedarettes and the Order of the Eastern Star. Pat enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nine siblings and husband of 64 years, Thomas A. Melhuish.
Pat is survived by her nieces, Karen Badellino and her husband, Mike, Sandra Wood and her partner, Timothy Phillips; nephews, Douglas and Robert Wood; great-nieces, Michelle Price and Renee Whitmore; and great-nephews, Bradford Wood and Brett Badellino. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in North Carolina.
