He passed away at 11:18 p.m., Saturday, Jan.
Born Oct. 24, 1920, in Logansport, he was the son of John and Libreata Caputo Rose. He was married Aug. 8, 1945, in Logansport, to Margaret E. “Margo” Arthur, who preceded in death Oct. 16, 1998.
Mr. Rose retired in 1984 after 47 years of employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central and finally Conrail.
Surviving are sons, Jay Rose and his companion, Cindy Deeter, and Tim Rose and his wife, Cindy, all of Logansport; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Jeff Kubly, Fort Wayne; sisters, Matilda Rose and Jean Delp, both of Logansport; grandchildren, John Jay Rose, Jr. and his wife, Amy, Chadwick Aaron Kubly, Zachary Andrew Kubly and his wife, Lindsey, Ryan Austin Kubly, Alison Jane Rose, Joanna Marie Rose, Katherine Anne Rose, and Sara Elizabeth Rose; great-granddaughter, Teagan Joy Rose; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Cindy Deeter’s daughter, Brandi Maloy and her children, Skyler, Byron and Bailee Maloy.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Rose; one grandson, Adam Patrick Rose; brothers, Joe Rose and Lawrence Rose; and sisters, Mary Quaglio and Esther Costello.
