Pastor Nathan C. Ridgeway, 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 in a local hospital.
Pastor Ridgeway was born in Monroe, Georgia and he was the son of the late Rosenel Lancaster Ridgeway and Noah Glyndon Ridgeway.
His infant sister, Cheryl Ann Ridgeway, sister, Sandra Ridgeway and brother, Phillip Ridgeway also preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Lee College (Lee University) and served 56 years in ministry. His pastorates include the Church of God in Vandalia, Ohio, Senatobia, Mississippi, where along with his wife Faye, planted 3 churches in and around the city of Senatobia, Dayton, Ohio and Statesville, North Carolina. He also served as Associate Pastor in Canton, Ohio. For more than 23 years, he pastored in Norcross, Georgia.
He also served on various boards including the State Youth Boards in North Carolina and Ohio and the M.I.P board in North Carolina. He served as a Rector for the Tres Dias Organization and he was very active in the Full Gospel Business Men’s Association especially in North Carolina. He was an avid reader, especially when it comes to Theology and Doctrine. Most of all, Pastor Ridgeway was known for his “Pastor’s Heart” and his love to witness, telling all about the saving grace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! He was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Faye Ridgeway of Cleveland; daughter, Ali Elizabeth Compagna (Chris), Fortuna, California; son, Pastor Nathan C. “Nate” Ridgeway, Jr. (Robin Bowden Ridgeway), Cleveland; grandchildren, Kells Weatherby III, Nathan Ridgeway III, Isaac Weatherby, Abigail Ridgeway, Ava Compagna, Anna Kate Compagna and Emma Compagna; sisters, Germaine Davis (Andrew), Diane Pratt all of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Victor Ridgeway (Susan), Macon, Georgia, Eric Ridgeway (Jeanette), Monroe, Georgia; nieces and nephews.
