Pastor David Emory Maley, age 72, of West Hill Community, passed away, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Grafton, March 8, 1944, a son of the late Dorsey W. and Leota Croston Maley. David is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Mayle Maley, they were united in marriage June 20, 1964.
David entered the gates of heaven this Saturday Morning, what a reunion there was. He is now in a land where he can speak the Gospel knowing what he preached for many years has finally come true. He loved the Lord with all his heart. David was the Chaplain of the Taylor County Sheriff Dept. David was in ministry for 44 years and the kindhearted Pastor at the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church for 41 years. Preacher Dave truly had a compassion for the souls of this community. David adored spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and truly cherished anything outdoors. David loved to ginseng. He hunted all over WV and Ohio but his favorite place to bear hunt was in Tucker County. He did concrete work for so many and lost count of the number of yards he poured.
David is survived by two children, Jimmy Maley and wife Jennifer, Donna Leota and Kevin(Bugga-boy) both of Grafton, four grandchildren, David J. “DJ” Maley and wife Rose, Caleb Maley, Brandon Boyce and wife Kelly, Tiffany Hatfield and husband Jason, two great grandchildren, Carson Boyce and Camryn Boyce, one sister, Kathleen Mayle and husband Rev. Winfield Mayle, Bruceton Mills, three sister-in-laws, Ruth Maley, Myrtle Maley both of Canton, Ohio and Christine Roush, Barberton, Ohio and many nieces and nephews whom he treasured dearly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald L. Maley, two sisters, Bernetta Mayle, and Mary Wyckoff Lantz, four brothers, Kermit Maley, Albert “Abe” Maley, and Ted Maley.
