Pastor Bryant Lamar Walker

“B/Walk Baby Love/Baby”

Bryant Lamar Walker was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 26, 1970, to Linda Joyce Bell and Oliver DeWayne Walker, and was the only child.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and son.  He leaves here on earth his phenomenal wife Kimberly, his awesome three children Brandon “B”, Jordan “Suga Suga”, and JaShawn “JB”, his loving mother Linda, his compassionate father Oliver (Helen), a host of faithful aunts, uncles, cousins, and his miniature schnauzer Samson “Sammy Samson”.

Bryant was educated in the public school system in Tulsa, OK, Boley, OK, Rome, GA, Savannah, GA, Houston, TX, and Indianapolis, IN.  He graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, Indiana (Class of 1988), and earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Alabama Agricultural &  Mechanical University (also known as “A & M”) in Huntsville, AL (Class of 1994).  He   also studied at Langston University in Langston, OK, and I.U.P.U.I. in Indianapolis, IN.

Bryant was a true athlete, who excelled in many sports throughout his life.  His involvement in sports was much greater than a hobby.  He had a winning drive that took him all the way to Market Square Arena to compete in the Wrestling State Championships in high school.  He didn’t stop there.  His was so athletically talented that he was invited to try out for a Birmingham Major League Baseball team while studying at A & M.  During his adult years, he played basketball and golf to satisfy his competitive appetite.

The summer before Bryant’s 8th grade, he and his dad moved to Indianapolis.  He was disappointed to have to leave his childhood friends in Savannah, GA.  He’d experienced this disappointment before having to leave his friends in Rome, GA.  He kept those friendship near and dear to his heart.  Bryant experienced being the “new kid on the block” and “the new kid at school” many times throughout his childhood.  Growing up like this helped cultivate the value he gave, and had for genuine friendships.  The Good News is that, although he did not want to leave his friends in Rome and Savannah, once Bryant got to Indy, a whole new friendship world opened up to him.

Phillips Temple played a major role in Bryant’s developmental, educational, and spiritual experiences.  Phillips Temple helped nurture him.  The Temple gave him the tools to matriculate through life as a Child of God, a Man of God, and a Servant of God.  Bryant
