Bill was born in Sparta, NC on November 21, 1932. Following graduation from Piney Creek High School in 1951, he served 4 years in the United States Navy. Bill married the love of his life, the late Vera McGrady in 1954. After 30 years, he retired from CSX in 1994, as a Senior Computer Programmer. Bill’s greatest passion was being pastor of New Hope Baptist Church for nearly 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vera and his daughter ,Teresa. He is survived by his son, Bill and his wife Cindy and his daughter Robin and her husband Steve. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
