Her Story

        Pastor Bettie Gary at age 88, passed away peacefully from this life on Monday September 2, 2019. She was born on March 27, 1931 to the parents of Andy and Gertrude Chatman in Oxford, Mississippi. She then moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended Crispus Attucks high school. Bettie united in holy matrimony to the late Bishop John Mosley and was baptized in Jesus name. She received the Holy Ghost at Christ Temple Apostolic during a revival led by Bishop Mattie Pool. She then started a quartet group called “Jewel Gospel Singers” which led her to start Women’s Ministry. Later she moved her membership to Pentecostal Lighthouse under the leadership of John W. Cross

She founded Faith Apostolic Powerhouse Outreach Ministries where she utilized her platform to encourage upcoming ministers to walk in their gift. In 1993, she united in holy matrimony to Elmer Gary, which led her to start traveling ministry and God elevated her to a more prosperous life.

Pastor Bettie Gary was preceded in death by her parents; even brothers and four sisters; her sons, Tyrone Humphrey and Jimmy Roberts.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Wade Wortham, Belinda and Don Anderson, Anthony and Shirley Humphrey, Michael and Shannon Roberts, Sania Glass, Monica Mosley-Wilson, Elmer Gary Jr., Myrtis Gary, Sholonda Gary, 80 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Joiner, Lucille and Roy Lester; other relatives and friends.
