Pasha Luka Wienholt, 20, of Raleigh, passed away suddenly at his home on April 9, 2023. Pasha was born in Chornukhy, Ukraine. When he was 18 months old, Pasha was brought to the United States by his adoptive parents, Claire Barthelemy and Michael Wienholt.
Pasha grew up mostly in San Diego. He loved the beach and was most happy when he was playing in the surf. Pasha was artistic and enjoyed sketching and painting. He was strong and athletic, and always eager to discover new sports. He was often described as a “natural” by his coaches. His favorite sports were parkour, snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, baseball, soccer, roller hockey, tennis, and most recently joining his mother on the pickleball court. He enjoyed attending sporting events, including Padres and Orioles baseball, and anything Wolfpack. After moving to Raleigh in 2017, Pasha graduated from Millbrook High School. He developed an interest in jewelry and gemology, and he earned certificates in Diamond Essentials and Applied Jewelry Professional from the Gemological Institute of America. Pasha was recently employed as a solar technician for a solar energy company and he was excited about the job and the prospects it offered. Pasha was spiritually minded, with a curiosity and belief in the after-life. He had a kind and gentle soul, and his loss is deeply felt by those who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Pasha is survived by his sister, Jessica Wienholt of Jackson, WY; maternal grandparents, Odon & Madeleine Barthelemy of Paris, France; many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence & Rose Wienholt of Baltimore, MD.
