Pansy Bernice Moore, 88, was born June 25, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Julia Phillips Lively and Harrison Wright.
She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Caroline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Denton, MD.
Pansy was educated in Kent County Public Schools. She was employed by Vita Foods, Upper Shore Mental Health after which she worked domestically for various families.
“Aunt Pansy” as she was affectionately called by many, loved life to the fullest. She had a genuine warm-sweet spirit and a sense of humor that could change the atmosphere. There was never a dull moment when she was around.
Pansy was joined in holy matrimony to the late Samuel Moore, Sr. the love of her life, whom she shared 40+ precious years with. They were inseparable.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jimmy Butler and sister Jeanette Hynson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son; William “Joe” Butler, two daughters; Regina and Shirley Butler, all of Denton, MD, one step-son; Samuel Moore, Jr. of Chestertown, MD, one step-daughter;
Barbara Moore of Philadelphia, PA, and Terrance Hopkins of Dover, DE, whom she called her son, four grandchildren; Denise Spencer and
Shirell Moody, both of Denton, MD, Antwan Butler of Glen Burnie, MD and Tasha Butler of Chestertown, MD, Six great-grandchildren, Terez Russell, Te’Asia Garnett, Aniyah and Amiyah Butler, Breyona Butler, and RahShawn Butler and one great-great granddaughter; Lauren Russell, one sister, Mabel Sanabria of Dover, DE, two brothers-in-law; Raymond Moore Sr. (Mary) of Chestertown, MD and Russell Moore of Newark, NJ, two sisters-in-law; Edith Cruz of Galena, MD and Ruby Johnson (Alan) of Chestertown, MD and a devoted nephew, Maurice Hynson and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
