Pamela Vanette Calk Plunkett passed peaceably and with dignity losing her battle with Multi System Atrophy on August 25, 2012. While the disease took her mobility and independence she continued to display a remarkable spirit. She was born October 19, 1944 to Eldon Thomas Calk and wife Clem and was reared in Eldorado, Texas as the daughter of the mayor, living what her father called a “charmed life”. She was a dancer, twirler and model and Miss Eldorado Woolen Mills. She had a vibrant spirit and easily captured her husband”s heart while at the University of Texas. They were married in 1965 and built a family and served their church and community, while also traveling extensively. She served as a teacher, real estate agent and antique dealer. She served three terms on the BISD School Board, one on the Kendall County Appraisal Board and two on the Appraisal Review Board, but was most satisfied with her work to help with building and improving schools while on the School Board and on the committees that planned and built the sanctuary at the First United Methodist Church where she was a member for over thirty-eight years. The role she enjoyed most was being “Grammy” to her six grandchildren.
