Pamela Sue Madsen, age 74, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital at Mayo Clinic. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Billie Jo Barrett Henderson on March 9, 1947. She lived in Waterloo, IA and Des Moines, IA before moving to Algona, IA. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines in 1965. During her school days, Pam developed a love for singing, swimming, and cheer leading. On January 14, 1968, she married the love of her life, Donald James Madsen. Throughout the years Pam worked at Snap-On, Iowa State Bank, and as a mother to four boys. After her retirement, Pam enjoyed playing cards, was involved in the hospital auxiliary, red hat ladies, keeping up with her grandchildren and watching soap operas. She was also very active in her church, St. John’s Lutheran in Burt, Iowa. She participated in the choir, ladies aid and teaching Sunday school. Pam is survived by her husband of 53 years, Don of Algona, IA; her sons Jeff of Burt, IA; Craig (Tara) of Estherville, IA; Jim of Kettering, OH; Nick (Micah) of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren Carson, Hadley, Jordan, and Aleyah; brother Todd Henderson of Grinnell, IA; one brother in-law, five sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews. Pam was proceeded in death by her parents (Bob and Billie Jo); mother and father in-law (William and Mathilda) and one brother in-law.
