Pamela Kay Chaney, 68, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, July 17, at home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Elkhart, to the late Herman and Zina (Evans) Wilke.
On Aug. 3, 1972, she married the late Eugene “Gene” Chaney in Elkhart.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana (Jeff) West-Fusaro of Elkhart and Diane (Jeff) Anderson of Texas; two sons, Mike and Scott Chaney, both of Texas; a brother, Del (Dorothy) Wilke of Detroit; a sister, Linda Wilke of Elkhart; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Wilke and Sandy Eastman.
Pamela was a real estate agent for more than 25 years before retiring to work for Meijer until 2010. She enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles with Gene and was a lifetime member of ABATE. Her latest passion was the Second Chance Small Dog Rescue of Elkhart, where she became an active volunteer, fostering numerous small dogs since 2011.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her unwavering caregiver Kim Berkel and to Ed Reed, R.N., of Great Lakes Hospice for his support to the family and his kindness in caring for Pamela.
