Ms. Ozie Jean Thomas was born on April 15th, 1943, in Harpersville, Alabama to the parents of Prime Thomas and Fannie Jane Wallace. At an early age Ms. Thomas accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with New Hope Baptist Church, Gadsden, Alabama. She served on the New Hope Usher Board for over 30 years.
Ms. Thomas received her formal education in Etowah County School System and graduated with the class of 1968 at Carver High School, Gadsden, Alabama. She furthered her education and attended Gadsden State Community College, Gadsden, Alabama. While attending Gadsden State she studied BroadCasting.
Ms. Thomas worked with dietary, at Meadow Wood Retirement Center, Glencoe, Alabama until her retirement.
Ms. Thomas departed this walk of life on October 12th, 2022, at her residence in Childersburg, Alabama. She was preceded in death by Tommie Thomas, Willie Dee Thomas, Mat Lou Threatt, Curtis Thomas, Isiah Middleton, Wallace Thomas and Marion Thomas.
Her love will forever be cherish by her loving daughter, Stephanie (Juan) Glasco of Childersburg, AL; two granddaughters, Tanicea Thomas of Childersburg, AL, and Shajuan Johnson of Jasper, AL; grandson, De’Anshone Thomas all of Childersburg, AL; sisters, Willie J. (Charles) Bridges of Cleveland, OH, Linda G. (Lee Roy) Vanderhorst of New Jersey, Jacqueline Davis of New Jersey, and Elizabeth Thomas of Gadsden, AL; brother, Jimmy (Dorthena) Thomas of Harpersville, AL; special nephew, Michael Cook of Childersburg, AL, Darrin Thomas of Sylacauga, AL; sister in laws, Roberta Thomas of Gadsden, AL and Mary Bradford Thomas of Harpersville, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
