Owen Lee Saltsgaver, 97, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Indianapolis.
Owen was born on December 22, 1924 in Monticello, Illinois to the late Alva and Maggie Jo (LaRue) Saltsgaver.
Owen graduated from Monticello Township High School in the Class of 1944 and worked at Daum Overnight Trucking until his retirement in 1987. He was a former member of Greenwood Christian Church and later at the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. He was actively involved in The Boy Scouts for more than 40 years and, nicknamed “Salty” by his scouts, was the former Scout Master of Troop 264. He will be dearly missed.
Owen is survived by his three sons, Gary Saltsgaver of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (Monica) Saltsgaver of Nineveh, IN, and Rex (Maureen) Saltsgaver of Greenwood, IN; his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Owen was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rose Saltsgaver, and his parents, Alva and Maggie Saltsgaver.
