Mr. Owen J. Hodges, Jr., age 85, of Valley, AL passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehab in Opelika, AL.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his three children, Bobby Ann (John) McCollough of Valley, AL, Trey (Vicki) Hodges of Columbus, GA, and Manley (Annette) Hodges of LaGrange, GA; his six grandchildren, Shanna (Jason) Tyra, Heath Hodges, Hope (Will) Murray, Kyle Hodges, Jill Roberts, and Jared (Deanna) McCollough; his three great grandchildren, Hadley Murray, Owen Tyra, and Jackson Tyra.
Mr. Hodges was born on September 30, 1931 in Langdale, AL. He graduated from Valley High School in 1949 and from Auburn University in 1953. He was a member of the Auburn Golden Eagle Club and a proud member of the Auburn Letterman Club. He had retired from West Point Stevens, was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Valley, and in later years, enjoyed his fellowship with the Langdale Rook Club. He was a lifetime member of the Langdale United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Crusaders class and was very active, holding various positions at the church.
