Owen I. “Oggie” Hampson, 81, of Ottawa, died on Monday morning, April 10, 2017 at Rush Medical Center in Chicago. Oggie was born on January 5, 1936 in Utica to, Clifton and Hazel Marie (Owen) Hampson. He married Maxine Mautino on October 13, 1954 in Danville.
He was a retired Teamster working for LaSalle County Redi-Mix. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Naplate and the Men’s Club. He was a lifetime member of the OTHS Booster Club. He was a member of Teamsters Local 722. Oggie was a Little League Coach for 25 years. He also served as a volunteer fireman in Naplate. He is survived by his wife, Maxine, 5 children: Michael Hampson, of Albuquerque, NM, Mark (Marti) Hampson of Gilmer, TX, Cynthia (Rolland) Long, of Spanaway, Wash., Timothy Hampson, of Tacoma, Wash., and Owen “Oggie” (Mary) Hampson, of Ottawa, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
