Woonsocket – Ovide “OJ” Auger 73, passed away peacefully Monday, March 15, 2021 in Mariam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Lebrun) Auger.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Ovide and Agnes (Blaine) Auger.
OJ worked as a Bus Driver for RIPTA for 38 years prior to retiring.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 113 of Woonsocket, RI. OJ was a very loving caring man who adored his family and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and made everyone he meet feel as if they were part of his family. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch and Cribbage, and watching the Hallmark Channel whenever possible. He enjoyed going to the casino. He also called the numbers at St. Ann’s for BINGO.
Besides his loving wife Jeanne he is survived by his daughter Christine Arel of Woonsocket. One brother, Leo Auger of Florida and three grandchildren, Rebecca Arel, Brianna Arel, and Emma Capracotta all of Woonsocket.
He was also the father of the late Ronald Auger.
