Otto S. LeDrew, age 83, of Rensselaer passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. Otto was born July 13, 1926 in Lush Hus Bitt, Newfoundland Canada to Bessie (Ryne) and Samuel LeDrew.
Otto attended school in Newfoundland, Canada and lived in Toronto. He moved to the United States in 1967 and became a United States citizen in 1972. He retired from the construction business after 36 years. He was employed 36 years at Lathe Construction, Hammond, and was a member of the Lathe Union for 32 years. Otto also had worked at Northway Products in Rensselaer. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer.
On May 24, 1969, in Rensselaer, Otto married Velma Burnes Warran who survives.
Surviving along with his wife Velma are three children, Pearl Burnside, Brook, Michael Dean Warran, DeMotte, and Roger (Gayla) Warran, Rensselaer; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and one sister, Ruby (Neil) Wiseman, Toronto, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four children, Rose Marie, Thomas Delos and Charles Richard Warran and Patricia Gorski, 8 sisters and 6 brothers.
