Otto Herman Unzicker, 86, of 1721 11th St., Peru, died at 11:50 a.m. September 5, 2006 at Manor Court, Peru after an extended illness. He was born November 21, 1919 in Peru to Udo and Margaret (Kohr) Unzicker. He served in the Army during WWII. He was a tool and die maker at westclox for 45 years until retiring. He married Lorraine May Hale on December 19, 1943 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Peru.

He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, was a member of the church choir, church council, and Lutheran Men in Mission. He was a member of American Legion Post #0375. He volunteered for the Pads Shelter and Labor of Love. He was a landscape artist and had been painting since 1955, winning many awards at the county and state fair. He wrote poetry that was published in the National Library of Poetry.

He is survived by: his wife of Peru; 3 daughters, Linda Baker of Champaign, Judith (Jim) Anderson of Peru, and Laura (Steve) Martin of Pineville, North Carolina; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded by: 1 sister and 3 brothers. Memorials may be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Peru.
