Otto H. Fiedler 95, of LaSalle, passed away September 13, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Fiedler was born September 5, 1916 in Putnam County to Otto and Ida (Schulz) Fiedler. He married Mary (Burash) on September 1, 1979 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Peru. He enjoyed many varied careers including being a farmer; a truck driver; a sales manager for the Lowe Seed Company; a car salesman for Harry Comparon and Schwindaman Motor; and then driving a school bus for First Student for almost 20 years. He was a member of the Elks and was at one time Exalted Ruler. Otto was also the director of Civil Defense for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his wife Mary, children Marlene (Ronald) Migliorini of Minooka, Nancy (Joseph) Ronchetto of Alamo, CA and David (Particia) Fiedler of Sandwich; step children Nancy (Kenneth) Schmidt of LaSalle, Edward (Peggy) Burash of Mark and John (Theresa) Grove of LaSalle; 22 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dorothy (Hartman) Fiedler in 1978, a step son David Burash, a brother Jerald R. Fiedler and a sister Ethel Fiedler. Pallbearers will be Anthony Sondgeroth, Jeffery Ashlock, Edward Miller, Richard Burash, Christopher Coan, Nathaniel Ashlock, Ethan Sanford and Evan Grove. He was a kind and gentle teddy bear of a man who was adored by his family and will be missed every day.
