While living in Albuquerque, he developed a profound appreciation for Native American culture. Otto had a knack for engaging complete strangers in spirited conversations about religion and politics. Otto is survived by his wife, Emily; his brother, George; his children Otto, Heidi, and Karen, as well as his seven grandchildren.
