Othmar “Ottie” Salz, 88, of Lostant, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Salz was born October 28, 1925 in Stacyville, IA to William A. and Anna (Puetz) Salz. He married Helen Martin on June 5, 1947 at St. Anthony’s Church in Streator. Mr. Salz was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the infantry during World War II. He was a member of the Lostant American Legion and St. Mary’s Church in Wenona. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; one daughter, LuAnn Salz of Peoria; two grandsons, Randy and Adam Salz; one sister, Bernadette (George) Spore of Fairview Bay, AR and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Connie in infancy; his son, Kevin Salz; one grandson, William Salz; two sisters, Cecilia Bulfer and Irene Bonnell and two brothers, Wilfred and Victor Salz. Pallbearers will be Eugene Heider, Randy, Adam and Mike Salz, Donnie Martin and Denny Carr. Honorary pallbearer will be Maurie Henderson.
