Oswaldo O. Iturralde, 89, of Keyport, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on March 11, 2022.  Oswaldo was born in Ecuador, to Luciano and Blanca (Hermosa) Iturralde.
Oswaldo came to the United States with the prospect of constructing a better future for his family. He was ambitious and possessed impeccable work ethic, which was evident in his ability to hold at least two jobs at a time. He retired as a general contractor for The Greens at The Hampton Vista in LI, NY.
Oswaldo attended the seminary and left his studies to care for his mother and family after his father’s death. He later left his heavy equipment employment in pursuit of his soul mate, Marianita. His father introduced Oswaldo and his brother to theater and the dramatic arts as children. Upon arriving in the US he and his siblings, who had theater in their blood, founded the Theatrical Ecuadorian Social House introducing Spanish theater. Through their charismatic wit they were given the opportunity to host a television program with channel 47 from 1967 to 1969. Oswaldo was proud of becoming a published poet in 2011. He dedicated his life to his sons, Oscar and George. His greatest joy was undoubtedly his family. He was a man of faith, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Always a gentleman, Oswaldo was kind and mentoring, a friend to whomever needed one, and a second father to many.
