Osvaldo Joel Martinez, 25, passed away on September 1st, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after succumbing to his injuries from an automobile accident on August 22, 2020. Joel was born on May 31, 1995 in Rio Piedra, Puerto Rico, to Alma Diaz and step dad Leonardo Bones. He graduated from Commerce High School in Springfield, Ma. Joel was an honorable man who served his country and served it well. He had one deployment and when he came back from his deployment he had his mind set on pursuing a 2nd career as a firefighter and succeeded with many other aspirations. Joel was full of ambition and determination and was someone who always put others before himself. He truly was one-of-a-kind, with a giant heart filled with love for everyone he met, consistently working to motivate and inspire his peers to do better and be better. Joel was 25 when his life was taken from his family.
