Oscar W. Watson, 74, of Moberly, died Monday, December 5, 2016, at his home. Oscar was born October 1, 1942, in Fayette, AL, to Oscar L., Sr. and Bessie Mae (McKinney) Watson.
Oscar attended Moberly High School class of 1961. He had worked at several businesses in Moberly including; Gillian’s Bakery, Dr. Hobbs’s and Dr. Hammond’s offices, Orscheln’s and for Moberly Public Schools as a cross walker. Prior to retirement he was a machinery operator for Everlast.
Oscar married Emma Watts on September 3, 1993 in Moberly, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Peggy Clark and husband Joe of Columbia, Lesa Dennis and husband Larry of Callao, Camillia Watson of Macon, James Watson and wife Sharolett of Moberly and Aquilla Clark and husband Elliot of Kansas City, MO, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two brothers Andrew Cade and wife Adrienne of Chicago, James Cade and Miranda of Moberly; three sisters, Faye Singleton and husband Ron of Moberly, Vivian Doughty of Columbia, Sandra Gatlin and husband Kater all of Columbia; uncle Roscoe Robinson, aunt Hattie Reynolds, brother-in-law, Joe Staten, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marie Watson Staten, a brother, Alfred Cade, his first wife, Christine Williams Watson, a cousin, Bobby Robinson, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Oscar was a member of the Missionary Second Baptist Church in Moberly. He loved his family, fishing with his son Jamie and his brother James, listening to Blues and drinking beer.
