On Monday, March 19, 2018, Oscar A. Aguirre, tragically passed away at the age of 38. He was the significant other to Kimberly Salerno, beloved son of Maria Del Roble Aguirre, and brother to Arnoldo ‘Oz’ (Roxana Florea) Olmos and Alexandra (Armando) Sosa. He was an uncle to Elijah Scott Davison, Jimmy Kayne Lu, Jocelyn Liora Sosa, Janelyn Marie Sosa, and Sebastian Adrian Olmos. He was also a cousin, friend to many, and proud U.S. Veteran. He will be greatly missed not only by his friends and family but also leaves behind his beloved dogs Maximus, Freddy, and his foster dog Gopher.

Oscar was born on November 26, 1979, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He grew up in Texas and attended Dickinson High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1999-2003 in the 60th Medical Operations Squadron out of Travis Air Force Base, CA. He earned his Bachelor of Arts with a Minor in Chemistry from San Francisco State University and his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Rush University. He became a US Citizen on August 25, 2016.

He worked at Advocate Christ Medical Center in the Emergency Room as a Trauma Nurse. He loved volunteering in the medical tent at the Chicago Marathon, snowboarding, playing and refereeing soccer, mountain biking, fishing, camping (anything outdoors), listening to music, reading, photography, and was an excellent cook.

He was kind, funny, smart, full of life, and full of advice. We’ll all miss his infectious smile and super loud laugh. Most of all he was loved by everyone who knew him.
