Orville F. “Red” Long, 80, of 2250 Mahaffey Lane, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Rose View Center following a brief illness.

Red worked at Pepsi Bottling Company for 20 years and then retired from South Williamsport School District after 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Ascension Church, and was a good woodworker.

Born July 7, 1929 in Williamsport, he was the son of Harold L. Long I and Harriet Baker Long Flook.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Valaria V. Federowicz; sons, Harold L. and Thomas E., both of Williamsport, Franklin P. of New Castle and Michael J. (Cheryl) of Jersey Shore; daughters, Annette M. (Harry) Long and Catherine L. (Steve) Spotts, both of Williamsport; a brother, Ronald (Donna) Flook of South Williamsport; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Red was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Workman, two brothers and two sisters.
