Orville H. Boldt 92 of Stockton died Tuesday, May 3 2011 at the Lena Living Center. He was born February 17, 1919, in Thompson Township to Henry and Caroline (Grebner) Boldt. On July 1, 1944, he married Esther Pogeman at the Holy Trinity Church in Scales Mound IL, she died July 31, 2006.
He bought the family farm in Thompson Township in 1944 in rural Elizabeth. After 16 years he moved to his rural Apple River farm where he farmed most of his life. Orville had served for 6 years on the Elizabeth Locker Board and the Farm Bureau Board. He was Supervisor for Thompson Township for 22 years and the JoDaviess County Board for 16 years. His hobbies were his John Deere Two Cylinder tractor, camping, and visiting with neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his Daughter; Connie (Barry) Townsend of Byron, 2-Sons; Ron Boldt Apple River, and Jeff (Cathy) Boldt of Stockton, 8-Grandchildren; Valerie (Richard) Cannon, Eric Boldt, Laurie (Mike) Motto, Brian (Andrine) Townsend, Josh, and Chris Boldt, Matt (Heather) Schaffner and Todd Schaffner, 9-Great Grand Children; Jayden Cannon, Mia, Collette, and Giada Motto, Maysa and Thatcher Townsend and Delany, Erinn and Andrew Schaffner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Laura Dittmar.
