Orville Clair Allington, 95, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2010, at a Nampa care center of natural causes.

Orville was born on September 26, 1914, in Jewel County, Kansas. He was the ninth child of W.E. and Jennie Fisher Allington. At a young age, Orville, moved with his family to Fullerton, Nebraska, where he attended school and worked on the family farm. In 1940, Orville hitchhiked to Caldwell and was employed by Pantorium Cleaners as a tailor, furrier, and a presser. Orville was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942 and was stationed at Camp Davis So. Carolina, Fort Bliss, Texas,  and in Anchorage, Alaska.  After serving 3 ½ years he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant and returned to Caldwell, where he continued his work at the Pantorium.

In 1947 and 1948, he attended furrier school in New York City. He restyled and repaired many fur coats for clientele in this area.  His 30 year employment with Nafziger’s Store For men in Caldwell began in 1962.  Sixteen of these years he was manager of the store, retiring in 1991. After about a year in retirement, he returned to Nafziger’s for several years as a salesman, doing what he loved. He was blessed with a long, full life, and many loving relatives and friends.

On November 27, 1953, Orville married Wanda Claussen at Caldwell, Idaho and two sons, Gary and Gregg, were born to this union.  Orville was a very loving and devoted father, very much involved with his family.  He always had time for his family and shared in their sports, camping, and other hobbies.

The pay is not great when you work for the Lord, but the plan for retirement is out of this world.
