Mr. Jackson was born July 23, 1913 in Belton, the son of Berry and Myrtle (Shelton) Jackson. He was a 1930 graduate of Nolanville High School. He married Jessie Adams, October 6, 1934 in Rochelle. They moved to Houston in 1938 where Mr. Jackson worked as a builder.
He built homes and churches including Lindale Church of Christ where he served as deacon for many years. In 1972 they moved from Houston to Belton. Mr. Jackson continued his work as a builder and also developed area around Lake Belton. He was a member and served as Deacon of Belton Church of Christ for many years. He taught Sunday School Classes and participated in the prison ministries.
He enjoyed membership in the Sportsman’s Club as well. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Homer Jackson and one great grandchild. Survivors include his wife Jessie Jackson of Belton; two sons Joe Jackson of Houston and James Jackson of Belton; one daughter Mary Kemp of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
